What does a social media marketing agency do?
A social media marketing agency plans, creates and publishes content for your business on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn. It also answers comments and messages, works with creators, and reports on results. A good agency picks fewer platforms and does them well, and measures website visits, enquiries and sales, not just likes.
Which social media platforms should an Australian business use?
The ones your customers use, usually no more than two or three done well. In Australia, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram reach the most people through ads, LinkedIn has 18 million registered members, and TikTok reaches about half of adults. Ecommerce brands usually start with Instagram and Facebook. B2B and service firms usually start with LinkedIn.
| Platform | Ad reach in Australia (late 2025) | Usually best for |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube | 21.0 million | How-to and product videos that stay searchable for years |
| 18.0 million registered members | B2B, professional services, hiring | |
| 17.7 million | Local businesses, community groups, older audiences | |
| 15.2 million | Ecommerce, food and drink, lifestyle | |
| TikTok | 10.9 million (adults 18+) | Short video and product discovery |
| Snapchat | 8.17 million | Younger adult audiences |
| 5.68 million | Home, fashion, recipes and gifting | |
| X | 4.74 million | News, commentary and customer service |

Is organic social media worth it for Australian businesses?
Yes, when it's tied to search and sales. In the Digital 2025 Australia report by We Are Social and Meltwater, over 58% of Australians said they use social media to research brands before buying, close to the 62% who use search engines. Since July 2025, public posts from Instagram business and creator accounts can also appear in Google results.
Social is where people discover you and check you're real; search is where they come back to buy. That's why we plan social and SEO together: the same topics, the same product names, and profiles that send people to the right page on your website. From there, email turns followers into subscribers, and brand work keeps a consistent look on every platform. For what organic search did for one Australian store, see our wine brand case study (an SEO programme).
How much does social media management cost in Australia?
It depends on how many platforms you're on, how much video you need and how many comments and messages come in. We don't sell fixed packages: you choose how many execution hours a day we work, reserved and billed at the start of each month, with no lock-in. The free social media audit shows what to change first.

8 deliverables
Social media audit
Your profiles, posts, comments and competitors reviewed, with the platforms worth keeping, the ones to drop, and what's actually sending people to your website.
Strategy and platform choice
Two or three platforms chosen from where your customers are, three or four content themes you want to be known for, and a clear goal for each platform.

Reels, TikToks, carousels and posts planned around your products and customers, shot from your footage, product photos or a simple shoot list we give you.
Calendar and publishing
A monthly calendar built around your launches and the Australian year (EOFY, Black Friday, Christmas, local events), scheduled at the times your audience is online.

What are the social media marketing rules in Australia?
Australian social media marketing has to follow the same rules as other advertising. Paid and gifted posts must be clearly labelled as ads, and claims and reviews must not mislead under the Australian Consumer Law. Since 10 December 2025, major platforms must stop under-16s holding accounts. Alcohol brands also follow the ABAC Code, including 18+ age restrictions.
Paid and gifted posts must say they're ads
The advertising industry code says marketing must be "clearly distinguishable as such". Ad Standards accepts clear labels such as #ad, Advertising, Paid Partnership or Paid Promotion, and has said that weaker labels like #sp, Spon, gifted or Collab may not be enough. In a March 2024 case it ruled that tagging the brand wasn't enough. We label every paid or gifted creator post clearly, at the start.
Reviews and endorsements can't mislead
In a 2023 sweep, the ACCC found 81% of the 118 influencers it reviewed had posts that raised concerns, most often undisclosed brand relationships. It also warned businesses against fake reviews, hiding negative ones and not disclosing incentivised reviews. We never buy followers, write fake reviews or delete genuine criticism; we reply to it.
The under-16 minimum age
Since 10 December 2025, Facebook, Instagram, Kick, Reddit, Snapchat, Threads, TikTok, Twitch, X and YouTube must take reasonable steps to stop under-16s having accounts, with fines of up to $49.5 million for platforms. The duty sits with the platforms, not with businesses. But if your customers include teenagers, your organic audience on those platforms is now 16 and over, so plan content and channels around that.
Alcohol brands (ABAC)
ABAC's influencer compliance guide (current at June 2026) asks alcohol brands to switch on each platform's 18+ restriction for organic posts, set 18+ targeting on paid posts (on Meta, at the ad set level), and use YouTube's age restriction rather than just "not made for kids". Where a platform has no age controls, the audience should be at least 80% adults. We set this up on every account and check each post against the Code.

How our social media management is priced
You choose how many execution hours a day we work on your social media: 4, 6 or 8, reserved for you and billed at the start of each month. The right number depends on how many platforms you're on, how much video you need and how many comments come in; we recommend one after the free audit. A good start is the audit and one or two platforms, adding more once those are working. Creator fees, shoots and ad spend, if needed, are agreed with you first and paid separately, and any scheduling or design tools are set up in your name. No lock-in contract.
Your rate is confirmed on a free call.
Get a free social media audit
Send us your website and your main social profile, then give us access to your analytics so we can see what social already sends you. Within two business days of getting that access, you'll get the three changes we'd make first, which platforms to focus on, and a quick check of your creator posts against Australia's ad disclosure rules. Yours to keep, whether you work with us or not.
Fewer platforms. Better posts. Real conversations.
We'd rather do two platforms properly than five badly. Every post has a job, whether that's showing a product, answering a question or giving people a reason to visit your site. Comments get real replies. And every month you see what social sent to your website, not just how many people liked a post.
Social Media Marketing Agency for Australian Brands โ FAQs
How often should we post on social media?
Often enough to stay consistent, and no more than you can do well. For most small Australian brands that's a few posts a week on each main platform, plus short video where the platform rewards it. A steady schedule you can keep beats a burst of daily posts that stops after a month.
Do you create the content, or do we?
We plan, write, design and edit it. For photos and video, we work from your product shots and footage, give you a simple shoot list, or arrange a shoot if you need one. You approve the calendar before anything goes live.
Can you grow our followers quickly?
Not by buying them. Bought followers don't buy from you, and they make your real engagement look weaker. We grow audiences with useful content, creators who fit your brand and posts that give people a reason to follow.
Do you work with influencers and creators?
Yes. We find creators whose audience matches yours, brief them and manage approvals. Every paid or gifted post is clearly labelled as an ad, as Australian advertising rules require.
Can alcohol brands market on social media in Australia?
Yes, within the ABAC Code. Alcohol posts should use each platform's 18+ restriction, paid posts need 18+ targeting, and where a platform has no age controls the audience should be at least 80% adults. We set this up and check every post against the Code.
How do you measure social media results?
By what social does for your business: website visits, enquiries and sales from social, tracked with UTM links and GA4, alongside reach, saves, shares and profile visits. You get a monthly report on what worked and what we'll change.
Do you run paid social ads?
This page covers organic social. If you run Meta or TikTok ads, we plan organic posts to work alongside them and share the posts that perform best, so your ads team can put spend behind posts that already work. Ad disclosure and reporting stay the same for both.
Do you work with businesses across Australia?
Yes. We work remotely with businesses in every state, from India. Calls are booked for your afternoon, and you get a written note on what changed each working day.
